Our vision is to pull together everything that you need to be an effective Continuous Improvement facilitator into one place. We are aiming to offer a wide range of products and services from facilitation kits, to accreditation coaching support, how to videos, useful templates and informative discussion articles for all things Continuous Improvement.
It doesn't matter if you're an individual Continuous Improvement enthusiast, a specialist 6 Sigma Back Belt, a business considering adopting Lean Principles, or a business that is already on its way to operational excellence; we aim to cater for everyone and you are most welcome on our site.
Our first product to market is our Gemba Facilitation Box which is now available to purchase. We designed this to support our own day to day delivery of Continuous Improvement and we think it adds real value when we are facilitating workshops. Gemba Box
What is it?
Developed and tested over 5 years, this all-in-one facilitation kit gives you everything you need be able to facilitate a Continuous Improvement workshop in any location. But it is more than just a facilitation kit. We use the kit to demonstrate principles of workplace organisation, with a place for everything and everything in its place, as well as mistake proofing with its Poke Yoke foam insert and Kanban inventory control. We were fed up of workshop participants leaving sessions with pens in their pockets, but with the Gemba Box you can quickly demonstrate if all of the tools from the workshop have been returned prior to releasing the group, and as consumable items such as post-its are used up, you know you need to re-stock before your next session. Housed in an incredibly robust case with CNS cut foam that puts everything you need in one place, the case is so robust that 5 years on since the first generation case was designed it is still in full working order. We now have them always to hand, under the desk or in strategic meeting spaces, or even in the boot of the car.
Who are we?
Gemba Tools is made up from a collaboration of Continuous Improvement Specialists from the UK who genuinely love it and we wanted to share what we have learnt from our careers and help others wherever we can. We are all Lean 6 Sigma Certified Practitioners with vast experience in various business sectors, all currently happily employed as full-time practitioners in Blue Chip businesses. What we think makes us unique is that we are not Improvement Consultants and we are not looking to come into your business and tell you what to do; we just want to give back to a profession that we have learnt a lot about and that continues to give us great and exciting careers. One of our core services is the 'coaching conversation' for when you find yourself stuck and can’t quite remember what tool to use next, or if you need a reminder on the theory of a specific tool to help you with your accreditation, or you just want some help on how to get started with Continuous Improvement in your business. We have found that unless you are in a business that is fortunate to employ its own CI professionals already, it can be tricky to make progress if you don't have access to someone to talk to.
